COLLEGE PROGRAMS

College students pursuing a career in one of the sciences or health related disciplines can benefit greatly by learning about the growing fields of organ donation and transplantation. The Maddog Strong Foundation has an ever-expanding repository of educational materials that teach the science of organ and tissue donation and transplantation.

If you’re a college educator or continuing education course instructor, contact us and we can supply you materials for your program or we can work with you to develop a full program for your course or institution.

GUEST SPEAKERS

Some of the most inspiring and rewarding moments come when students can interact with real life people connected to the subject matter they’re learning about. That holds true for organ donation and transplantation. The Maddog Strong Foundation would like to help connect teachers with guest speakers for their classes dealing with the subjects of organ donation and transplantation.

  • Transplant Recipients
  • Living Donors
  • Organ donor families and friends
  • Healthcare workers in the field of donation and transplantation
  • Organ Procurement Organizations

Organ Donation Campus Advocates

This is how we make a difference.

Students for H.O.P.E. is a national organization comprised of individual chapters at colleges, universities and high schools throughout the United States.

Students for H.O.P.E. advocates are:

  • Creating and inspiring lifetime peer advocates for organ and tissue donation.
  • Making a difference by increasing registrations that helps save the lives of those waiting on the national transplant waiting list.
  • Helping to educate students and spark a conversation about the life-saving and life-enhancing benefits of organ and tissue donation.
  • Providing career support and networking opportunities for future healthcare workers in the donation and transplantation industry.

Individual chapters are the student advocates of the Maddog Strong Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity that engages in organ and tissue donation and transplantation education and registration.

What Chapters Do

Blue-and-Green-UT

  • Educate their peers about the issues and impact of organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
  • Conduct organ donation registration drives on their campuses and in their community.
  • Inspire young adults to have an open dialogue about organ and tissue donation.

These campus clubs are much more than a social network. Members learn about the clinical side of organ donation and careers in healthcare, they engage with organ procurement organizations and national support groups, they perform registration drives and, most of all, they save lives!

"You have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." - Harriet Tubman

Our Story

Sam G 2 copy

Samantha Grobmeier, Founder of
Students for H.O.P.E

Students for H.O.P.E. was started by Sam Grobmeier when she was an undergraduate student at New York University. Sam’s younger sister, Maddie, a recent high school graduate, passed away from an asthma attack in the summer of 2019. right after Sam’s freshman year. Sam and her parents started the Maddog Strong Foundation, a 501(c )(3) national non-profit charity, as a way to help young adults move the needle for organ donation. After many of their friends attending high schools and colleges across the country reached out asking how they could help spread the message and keep Maddie’s memory alive, Sam started Students for H.O.P.E. and is currently establishing chapters across the country.
