Giving Tree Ceremony 2024

The Maddog Strong Foundation and the Frankfort Square Park District have created the first living organ donation memorial in the Chicago Southland: The Giving Trees at Island Prairie Park in Frankfort Square. The Giving Trees are individual trees dedicated to organ donors from various years.
A new memorial tree will be dedicated each year at the park during The Maddog Strong’s Annual Miles for Maddog 5K/10K Run and Walk that passes the park each June. Join us at Island Prairie Park next year at 7pm on June 21st, 2024 to honor 2023’s deceased donors.

Miles for Maddog 2024

Miles for Maddog is an officially timed race on a certified course and is a U.S. Track & Field sanctioned event. This 10K Run / 5K Run & Walk / Virtual Race “Celebrates the Hearts and Soles of Organ and Tissue Donation” by honoring deceased donors, living donors, and transplant recipients. Proceeds from registration fees and donations help fund the Maddog Strong Foundation’s efforts to educate teens and young adults about the life-saving need to register as organ and tissue donors and to have a conversation with their families about their decision… inspiring the next generation of organ and tissue donation advocates!
